who wants to be "serious about music"?
You should be serious about NOT being serious...

Hi Lee, I was interested in the Oscillator cards for either organ if they are in good shape. Email me at Drwesthurley@aol.com. to discuss the parts. Dave

I have the transformer from and old Mini Compact that was pretty trashed and ended being used for parts. It worked 15 years ago (meaning it powered up and sent out tones) but I can no longer test it. I removed it with anything else useful; the leads were cut. If you still need one let me know, I'll sell it cheap.

I just picked up a Mini Compact (to match my Compact Deluxe) off of Craigslist for $25. Doesn't power up. I took the chassis out and discovered that the power transformer lead insulation is badly damaged and is shorting. I'm planning on rebuilding the power supply, but I've had trouble sourcing an appropriate transformer.

Any ideas on where to get a 120/240V primary, with 22V and 9V secondary? I tried Mouser and a couple other large electronic suppliers, but they don't have anything with 22 and 9 volt secondary.

Thanks.

Brian

Do you still have the reverb pan for the COMPACT available. I would purchase it, mine is shot on the Combo Compact.

thanks,
Steve

ok. in case anyone is interested, I found the schematics of the Deluxe on an italian forum! Sadly, the board which has the bass preamp and vibrato is not on there. but I think I found the root of the problem for the percussion problem. the percussion circuit uses a neon lamp (NE-2), sealed in a little box along with two photoresistors (one works on the bass keys the other on the normal keys). this neon lamp is fine but there is meant to be another one on the board above the bass tabs. Mine has disappeared, only the leads remain. Being completely untrained in electronics, I don't understand why it's there (it's not lighting up anything) but I assume it has other electrical properties which make the percussion circuit work. I have tried to find replacements (maybe the one sealed in the box needs to be changed too so they are matched) but I'm not sure if different type exist. Would somebody know where i can get these lamps (preferably in the UK)?

Organist Wanted For Doors Tribute Band
« Result #8 on Dec 14, 2009, 1:53pm »

Hello everyone, thought I'd give a shout out to any of you who may be
interested, or maybe you know someone who may be. Recently, our band lost our keyboard player. Finding a replacement has not been easy. The band, Morrison Hotel is a Doors tribute act. Not to be confused with another band out of PA who uses the same name. Our band out of Myrtle Beach,SC USA has the name legally, and is part of a corporation. We are looking for someone who would be on the east coast and interested in touring. This year, we were scheduled to hook up with Frigid Pink on shows, but were unable because of. We are a serious band, with seasoned musicians of the old school, all the guys have played previously in Doors projects. We would welcome a younger keyboardist if they were serious about the music. Even if wanting to learn it, we would be willing to work with. Ability to play left-hand bass is not required, but a plus. We have an electric bass player as The Doors did in the studio. We have the equipment at your disposal, so owning your own is optional. We have a Vox 301-H, Gibson,Rhodes, and a synth for back up purposes. Exact amplification via vintage Acoustic Control as used by Manzarek & Krieger. We use all vintage equipment down to the drum cymbals. The PA is 10,000 watts state of the art, but we augment with a separate vintage Acoustic Control board and Column speakers as The Doors used. Even our mics are vintage. So, you can see a large investment has been made. We are not just another Doors tribute band. With this, we are looking to start again by recording a new demo in a professional studio with the new keyboardist. Our engineer is a multiple Grammy Award winner and formerly with The Hit Factory in NYC.
So, if you are an organist that lives near our base in SC, and interested in being apart of a stellar group of guys and doing some shows, we'd love to hear from you. If you like, you can respond here, or message us on the bands myspace page www.myspace.com/67doors. Thanks guys

Great video! Nice garage Pyschobilly vibe ! Great job on the video production. Warms the thingyles of my garage heart. GEM's were a I believe, an Italian organ related to Voxes or Farfisas.
