Thanks for posting this here, Brad. What does "unexpectedly playing" at the local tavern mean?

Thanks guys. It's great to hear the tranny organ in a live band setting.

Thanks for posting this here, Brad. What does "unexpectedly playing" at the local tavern mean? we were scheduled to play at another location but when we showed up the doors were locked tight. we took out the phone book and found a different place to play. it was a bar that normally features heavy metal bands. our style of "music" was entirely unexpected to them. one guy came up to me during a song and shouted, "YOU SUCK, THAT THING SOUNDS LIKE nuts, AND YOU ARE RUINING EVERYTHING!!!" i said thanks. a good number of people left as soon as they saw our gear.

Way to go Brad. Never ceases to amaze me why people have to go out their way to insult you when you are trying to entertain them. We once played a place where the owner hired us because we were and "oldie" band and played all of her 60's favs. At the first break a redneck walked up to us and in a disgusted tone said, "If you ain't country, you ain't s**t". Our bass player (a strapping lad with nose ring and tattos) shot back, " Does that mean if you are country you are s**t"?
