ok, I'm sure you've already discovered weird things when you open them old combo organs (except dead flies, pins, cut fingernails, dust, hair etc...)
in my Elka Panther 100: -a big screwdriver
in my Eko Tiger: -an old german biscuit of the late 60s -untouched- -a "1 pfennig" coin -an "eraser" pen

My Panther had some savage dust bunnies in it. I had a Prophet 600 that had what appeared to be a child"s tooth inside.

I found a fossilized spider in my Farfisa Professional, and a fly in a Kurzweil K2000.

Someone gave me a Compact combo they had left in a storage barn. I opened it up and two mice jumped out of a huge nest inside.Sadly the two critters peed on all the circuit boards and ruined the unit.

Have you thought about looking for a parts Compact to restore it with? Or keeping your eyes peeled for a cheap Compact on Craigslist or something and using the parts from this one to keep it running?

I found a lot of loose change in my panther that has been in there since the late 60's.

I'm thinking about restoring it. It's not really MINE yet. .I told the owner that it would take a lot of $$$ to restore it ,most of the cards are in very rough shape! It's pretty complete and actually powers up. It's really a Deluxe or a Mark 1 C.C. with the grey keys. I've got a couple others I'm working on too.

hi last month i opened up a farfisa matador to check out the draw bars, because the repeat bar almost pulled right out,a good find was the broken end hooks were still hanging on for dear life,so got some good glue and checked and glued every draw bar just in case.this organ was pretty clean inside ,can dust bunnies cause any problems like a short curcuit

I've restored some really bad things...the worst was a Korg Delta that operates in my studio today. The panel was rusty and the guy just skipped the auction cost since he didn't disclose that. Inside...the mice had done their worst. many parts just falling off from rusted leads. The amazing thing was...one of the big expensive divider chips (which I happened to have a cache of) didn't look damaged at all. One by it was slightly rusty on a few pins..one by it was pretty rusted but I thought it still might work. WHen I got it ready to power up it all worked briefly and that one failed. Replaced it. Next one failed immediately. Replaced it..worked for a few seconds then the third one failed. LOl! He got both expensive BBD's too! I wound up wishing I'd just scrapped it but anyway..it's working great today. Touched up some rust...
Now..drwesthurley@aol.com... why doth thou spam me? I don't know how I got on your list but there are HUGE files coming to my mailbox and making it so I have to log onto my server and delete them. What is up with that? I see you are the user ID who started this thread according to other posts on here. -Bob
