This is the best place I've even gone to. www.earsnyc.comThe Tech, Jeff Blenkinsopp used to be Richard Write's keyboard guy. Nobody that I've ever been to (And I've tried many people) has ever been able to get my combo organs sounding as great.

I'm obliged to do some trash talking about the above mentioned Triple S.
Although I live with in walking distance of them, I'll never go there for anything vintage. Here's why.
Firstly, they charge nearly $100 an hour. Secondly, because three Guitar Centers in North Jersey refer repairs to them, there is ALWAYS AT LEAST A TWO WEEK wait. Always. And often it is more than that.
FInally, my friend brought his ARP Quadra there. My friend is quite tech savvy, but didn't want to chance it. So he brought in his ARP Quadra and said, "hey I think the VCA has a bad cap in it" or something to that effect.
So weeks and weeks go by. After a month and a half he calls up Triple S, and says, "Sooooo...what's the deal?"
To which they respond, "We've been trying to call this company ARP, but no ones been answering the phone."
No joke.
My friend immediate removed his ARP from the care.

Sorry to hear that about Triple S...I've never used them, but was considering giving them a try, as I'm one town over, in Belleville. In the meantime, someone posted to Craigslist NJ that they fix vintage keys, so I emailed the guy...He's up in Hawthorne, maybe about 20 minutes from me and he says he's been doing it for 30 years. Here's the info he gave me: --- Standard Labor $60 / Hour , 1 hour minimum, half hour increment after 1 hour. Rush labor : $90 / hour House Call Labor : $120 / hour Parts : Pick up and Delivery : $30 / trip. any quantities, radius 30 miles. Estimate fee $30 / each (If repair time more than 2 Hours, will be estimated). Deposit : $20 each unit required. The deposit will be toward repair fee. Sales Tax (7% NJ tax) --- He also says that if you choose to do the work after you've paid the estimate, it will be applied towards the total repair cost. Here's his original ad. Anyone have any thoughts?

Anyone in Portland Oregon that knows of a knowledgeable and decent tech? I have a Duo, a Deluxe, and a Vox Super Continental that need varying degrees of work. All of these are in decent shape with the Deluxe being the best. It sat under a guys bed for 40+ years and is in close to mint condition. It even came with the keys for the case. It has two really bad bum notes and two minor bad bum notes. Everything else appears to work well for something that was virtually untouched for that amount of time.
