I was curious who held this dubious distinction and it turns out there is some contention about who really holds the title. Somehow I was certain that it was my son's band ,"Prosthetic Head". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudest_band_in_the_worldThe loudest concert I think I ever saw was the Mahavishnu Orchestra at the Music Center in El-Lay circa 1973. The sound was just too big for the room and it was painfully loud. Environmental Health and Safety clocked a chiller in one of our buildings at work doing 106 decibels yesterday. Rock and Roll!

that question of loudness sounds very 70s to me ; I hate that era, when bands started to put so many amp on stage, just to play loud (Led Zeppelin, etc...) ; that's when music started to be un-dancable
I noticed that with my band, the louder we play, the less people dance
I think it's so ridiculous to see all them people (including me) with those stuff in the ears during concerts, just because musicians can't use their gear and put down the volume
