I know this isn't a combo organ, but I was wondering if anybody here knew anything about this? I picked this up last night mostly because it came along with a Rhodes suitcase. I tried playing it and I get nothing but a bunch of bizarre noises. Is that was these synths do?

I tried playing it and I get nothing but a bunch of bizarre noises. Is that was these synths do? Among other things. Seriously, synths of this vintage -- the early 70s -- don't have patch memory, so you have to set the parameters yourself for every sound. Try turning the filter cut-off to 12:00, and the resonance to zero. You'll also probably want to set all four oscillators to the same pitch. To start. Once you set everything back to bassline, you can start playing around. There is info about this synth here: www.vintagesynth.com/eml/eml101.shtmlIt is a semi-modular, four oscillator monosynth that can, I understand, produce some really cool sounds. I knew someone who had one years ago, and always kind of wanted one. It's a gloriously frankenstinian instrument, and if it all works, you have a pretty desirable synth. You could probably get a good price for a working unit on the bay.
