These days, I'm mostly a keyboard player. My gear list, in addition to the Vox goes like this:
Roland JX-8P synth Roland Fantom X6 synth/workstation Akai AX60 synth Korg DW8000 synth [mostly played by my singer]
I started as a bass player, and still play when necessary, and I've played guitar almost as long as I've played bass, so that gear list looks like this...
Ibanez AS-120 Artstar guitar Gretsch Electromatic Double Jet guitar Gretsch Junior Jet short scale bass
And, of course, I play the flute -- one of my first instruments. I've been playing it a lot more lately, adding it to the mix.
Is it even possible anymore to focus on one instrument or instrument family?

I am a drummer that mostly plays V-drums these days. I have my beloved Alesis Fusion, A DSI MEK, an Ensoniq SD-1, and My Elka Panther problem child.
I also have a set of 1967 Ludwig psychedelic red drums. And a lot of other crap.

... And I've recently added a Kawai K1-II -- what an amazingly underrated synth! Of course, I'm glad of that, since it cost me $75. And our singer recently scored a Roland XP-10 that's sitting in my studio right now...

Hi
My keyboards list is probably somewhat eccesntric - but then I have a calssical training, and play classical (pipe) organ regularly.
Combos: Cavendish - a 2 manual cross between a clone-wheel & a combo, complete with a Leslie-type speaker Yamaha SK10 - billed as a "synphonic ensemble" keyboard.
Others: pipe organ (still in pieces!) 1865(c.) harmonium by Alexandre Roland Alpha Juno 2 Casio CT101 (awaiting repair) a more modern Casio keyboard Roland ep-760 digital piano e-Keys 49 controller keyboard 30-note MIDI pedalboard Laptop running MidiTzer (theatre organ simulator) 48 bass piano accordion
I also am interested in Early Music, and play recorders seriously ( we have at least one example of each pitch from Garklein down to Bass plus a couple of "dreamflutes")
There's also a classical guitar & a Ukelele lurking around the place, but I need to find time to learn to play the things!
My wife plays recorders & clarinet.
Every Blessing
Tony

Mainly a guitar player, but combos have gotten me into keyboards...and I love it. Guitars: Gibson SG w/ P-90's(Pete T. Live at Leeds man!), an Esquire (1 p'up Tele) customized replica of Syd Barretts' mirror disc guitar. An Alvarez 000 mahogany acoustic, and a Charvel 80's Strat heavily modded. Sold my 1971 Fender Princeton...saving for an AC-30. Keys other than my Vox and Gibson combos: ARP Omni I, 2 old 80's Casios, an old broken Yamaha "PSS" something or other, a Hammond L-100 spinet. Effects: Maestro PS-1A Phaser, Homebrew UFO octave fuzz, Area 51 Wah in a goofy coral pink case, and a few other odds and ends. What I used to have would fill 3 pages, and cause me to weep!!! The things I shouldn't have sold should be the next thread.

My various other keyboards, besides my recently acquired Farfisa Compact:
*Casio SK-5 and SK-8: Both unmodified, usually loaded with lousy-sounding Mellotron samples *Mattel Optigan: The ubiquitous cheese-o-rama optical disk-based chord organ. Have a nearly complete set of disks for the thing, including the rare "Vox Humana" choir disk *ARP Solus: Cool old analog synthesizer. Doesn't work all that well, but still produces lots of neat sounds *Magnus chord organ: Little more than an electrified accordion, but still a gas to mess around with from time to time *Commodore SX-64: OK, so technically not a musical instrument, but with a Music Machine cartridge plugged in, it makes for a simple mono/polyphonic synth *Casio ML-81: More of a calculator than a keyboard, but simple songs can be played with it. *Casio PT-101, PT-17: El-cheapo Casio keyboards. The 101 is kinda nice, but the PT-17 is monophonic, and quite limited.
Also play a Yamaha Pacifica 112M electric guitar from time to time, but needs some work (keeps snapping low E strings, for some reason). I'm always on the lookout for weird instruments to add to the collection, and most of my finds have been at yard sales or flea markets. -Adam
