well, I know that some farfisa spinets sound quite exactly like compacts ; what about the yamaha & the YC series? is there some spinets that sound like the YC?

Well...Having never heard the Farfisa spinets, I won't compare them to the Combo Compacts.
Unfortunately, I have the same problem on the Yamahas: I have a few different Yamaha combos, but have never tried the home versions. That said, the YC combos were officially part of the Electone line - and even share the same kinda popsicle stick controls - so I'd look for some of the Electones from '69-'77 and see if you can find sound samples.

some combo's are now very hard to find or too pricey, then some people focus on spinets which have the same parts of the combo (and eventually chop them)
a guy named "bradx" had a vid where he chopped a farfisa spinet which was actually quite the same as a mini compact if I remember well
I recently bought and sold an Elka X109 and I've found out that it exists as a spinet under the name E19
I don't know if it works with the Electone/YC series or not? the B-10 has been released the same year as the YC-25...
any ideas?

Hi there! Here are some well known (or not-so well known) combo organs, and their spinet equivalents: Vox Continental 300 = Vox Home Club Continental 301 Farfisa Mini compact = Farfisa Cromwell/Foyer Farfisa Compact = Farfisa Rhapsody (bass on pedals only) Farfisa Compact Duo/Deluxe - Farfisa Ballata (sort of a blend between the 2 combo models, no 2 2/3) Vox Jaguar / Gem model P / Gem Jumbo / Galanti Apollo = Galanti Napoli (the Napoli has reverb, a bass octave ,although no pedals, and also a duo version) YES, even the Jaguar has a spinet sister! Also, there are two Farfisa models that were made at the same time as the Compact line, so they must at least share the same oscillator circuitry, they also have a bass octave on the lower manual: Farfisa Leader mb (lower: 42 keys C to F upper: 37 keys F to F) Farfisa Galaxy (lower: 49 keys C to C upper: 44 keys F to C) Hope thar helps, if you need pictures I have a few. all the best, Charles

Hello Mt Wallet That's indeed a good question, as the Yamaha Electones are for the less "numerous" in France, under 100€. The simpliest ones seem to be easy to chop, and already provide a line out. For example : www.imoose.nl/electone/details/b-205.htm . Don't know how they sound... A+ Samm Bee
