Hi all. I've had this Farfisa for awhile and have recorded it many times as is but it could use a bit of TLC. Here are short list of its problems:
- the bass keys have much lower lever even with the bass volume pot all the way up. and so much hiss that i have to turn it off if i'm recording.
- the percussion mode is a bit erratic. I can see the light flickering off and on even when no key is played. when keys are played the decay is uneven from one time to the next and the decay is incomplete (note still audible at low level as long as the key is depressed) - the vibrato is extremely subtle (to the point I am not sure if it's on or off, fast or slow)
apart from the 12 oscilators, i have not been able to identify/locate the other parts of the circuit. Can somebody give me a rough idea of where to look for each of these problems?

ok. in case anyone is interested, I found the schematics of the Deluxe on an italian forum! Sadly, the board which has the bass preamp and vibrato is not on there. but I think I found the root of the problem for the percussion problem. the percussion circuit uses a neon lamp (NE-2), sealed in a little box along with two photoresistors (one works on the bass keys the other on the normal keys). this neon lamp is fine but there is meant to be another one on the board above the bass tabs. Mine has disappeared, only the leads remain. Being completely untrained in electronics, I don't understand why it's there (it's not lighting up anything) but I assume it has other electrical properties which make the percussion circuit work. I have tried to find replacements (maybe the one sealed in the box needs to be changed too so they are matched) but I'm not sure if different type exist. Would somebody know where i can get these lamps (preferably in the UK)?
