alright, I'm a proud owner of a Farfisa Compact Deluxe since yesterday! the vibrato and the reverb unit don't work but I haven't open the beast yet
I don't have neither the pedal board, nor the volume pedal
but I have some questions to solve:
-may I use a "classic" volume pedal with a jack input (bespeco)? will it work?
-the black keys don't work, the grey ones do ; is it normal when you don't have the pedal board?
thanks for your help!

I worked on a deluxe last year. I don't know what bespeco means....I know you need to use a Farfisa 3 pin volume pedal ,not a guitar volume pedal with a 1/4" plug. As far as the bass notes go ,again the pedal is not required. It could be a few different things, like a broken solder joint. Open it up and look at it or get a repair tech. You don't need pedals for a Farfisa Compacts to work. Farfisa organs aren't that easy to work on.Good luck.

thanks for your reply! well I made a few mistakes ; I saw that jack output behind and thought it was where I had to plug the volume pedal so I thought about a cheap Bespecco volume pedal with a jack input but then I checked and realized there's that 3-pin plug under the organ but anyway, if the organ works w/o volume pedal, I pretty much don't care about it at the moment and I think I'll use a "classic" volume pedal between the organ and the amp. anyway, I have other issues: -the black bass keys don't work ; the grey ones do so you say there's no need to have the pedal work for them to work? good news... so I'll try to find where to fix them... -the C notes are well divided and sound tuned BUT their sound is dirty I think I gotta check the C card if there's some defect resistor or something...? -there's a very high note playing when I switch the 2/3 voices on ; I think it's just because of one of those wires looking like thin guitar strings -the reverb unit don't work at all -the vibrato works but I think it's not really "strong", even in Heavy position I've been told I can turn it higher, but still I don't where to look I made a quick vid here: hiddenpage.free.fr/vid.MP4thanks again for your help

Hey, congrats! I stumbled on this thread thanks to a saved google search when I was looking for a deluxe. I have a schematic if you are handy at fixing such things (which I am not...) here: farfisa.org/compact-deluxe-schematics-122/I'll try to help with your issues below.... but anyway, if the organ works w/o volume pedal, I pretty much don't care about it at the moment ---The volume pedal is a photocell pedal (with a little light bulb in there like the knee booster). They come up on ebay from time to time for a reasonable price (like $15). -the black bass keys don't work ; the grey ones do so you say there's no need to have the pedal work for them to work? good news... so I'll try to find where to fix them... ---The bass pedals are just controllers. The grey keys work as treble keys, bass keys or both? If they work as bass keys, there is something un-soldered between the two octaves. If they don't work for bass (just for treble), you have bigger problems. -the C notes are well divided and sound tuned BUT their sound is dirty I think I gotta check the C card if there's some defect resistor or something...? ---Sounds about right. -there's a very high note playing when I switch the 2/3 voices on ; I think it's just because of one of those wires looking like thin guitar strings ---Hopefully! -the reverb unit don't work at all ---Bummer. She sounds so nice! -the vibrato works but I think it's not really "strong", even in Heavy position I've been told I can turn it higher, but still I don't where to look ---I have owned way too many combos, and the vibrator always goes. The one on my deluxe is iffy at best...

thanks for your reply
yeah, I've downloaded the schematics already, but I quite don't know how to read them well! so I'll try to fix everything "my way"
yeah, the grey keys work as "treble" but not as "bass"... so I got the bigger problems!.
a friend of mine said I can put more intensity in the vibrato by turning a screw but I just can't locate it...
about the volume pedal, I got a Gem photocell pedal with a 3pin male so I think I could try to work something out... we'll see...
I'll have more time to spend on friday...
