Hi!
I recently got the awesome Elka x705, complete with schematics. Unfortunately, the swell pedal is missing.
The organ has a built in rhythm machine, but it doesn't play anything. I was thinking this might be due to the missing pedal, since it contains some switches for controlling it.
Does anyone here have some experience with this? Any help would be much appreciated!
Z!

Hello Ziga, I have also recently purchased an Elka X-705 with the swell pedal and an Elkatone700 rotary speaker. I need the schematics and user manual. I have not had time to test everything but I cannot get my drum machine to work either. Also the strings on the upper manual are not working and the bass and piano sounds are not working. However maybe I am not pushing the right buttons!! I will be opening it up soon to have a look inside for any obvious damage, connections contacts etc. but I really need some schematics and a users manual because it is a complicated beast. How are you coming along with yours?? Cheers, Lucas

Hi guys, just stumbled on this question whilst doing some research myself.
The swell pedal on the X-605 & X-705 is part of the output circuit and no pedal = no sound.
As for no sounds on the upper manual, this is probably due to a non tabs preset selected as selecting say Brass 1 disables the strings and other tabs.
I too am after a user manual as I have yet to figure out the Bass section buttons that are tied into the rhythm unit, so if anyone can assist?
Thanks
David

Hi guys! lucaslz: I have the schematics, but no user manual. I'll try to scan and post it somewhere. As for the swell pedal, the connector at the back of the organ is bridged with a wire (this was mentioned in another post somewhere); This apparently sets the swell volume to max. The organ/synth plays fine; It's the drum machine that doesn't work; the buttons light up and all, but no sound has come out of it yet Can anyone with the swell pedal describe what kinds of switches/controls are there, related to the drum machine? Tnx!!!

I saw that some of you are looking for the users manual. There is a German version available on the net (26 pages). Even if you are not familar with the language, many ideas can be taken from the pictures in combination with some general understanding of the functions of an analog electronic organ. The link www.jarrography.free.fr/synth...707_manual.pdfX707 and X705 are identical from technical point of view

Hi everyone,
Did someone find the reason why de drum machine doesn't work.
imho: this is a weakness of the machine for everyone (almost), or we don't know how to operate it....
My drum lights are flashing but no sound....
Same thing for the reverb: i heard there was a park position for it ever heard about it ?
thanks
Simon

I have an X-705. I have discovered that you need TWO wires bridging the swell pedal socket (1 bridging top 2 slots - 1 bridging the 2 below) that will give you volume. Im discovering all this by trial and error as manuals for this are non existant!
As for the drum machine, there are tabs and volume sliders to activate to sound out of it. Any more than this I havent learnt so far!
I have just bought the electrical schematics so I'll find a way to share them
good luck
