i just got a doric organ. it played fine then the bass keys stopped making sound. now i have to plug into the bass & output jacks to get sound. also one of the keys (A3) is not working, it has a knob for 1/4, 1/8, 1/12 & 1/16 . the a3 key only plays when its on the 1/16 setting. also no vibrato. any ideas why that key is making no sound or the dead vibrato?

Have you opened it up and looked inside?

Hello, as i said in my introduction, i have a problem with my Elka panther 300. Is anybody has the Schematics? I try to open it but as almost every wire is blue and there is nothing written on the pcb, i don't know where to look for something wrong. Help! Thanks, Manuel

Organs tend to be straight forward electronically. In other words if a switch does not work then carefully check the wiring going to that switch, or the switch itself. Somewhere in that circuit there is an "open" circuit. This could be a broken wire or a bad solder joint. The same works for keydecks. If a key does not work it is usually a dirty contact point under the key. My first rule of repair is to clean everything inside and out first before looking for elctrical problems.

I've had a Doric (a 61 PS I think) sitting in my garage for the past 30 years. I plugged it in yesterday. When I was trying to get it running, I had a problem where a section of the keyboard would not work, or would work very faintly. Here's what I found the problem was: If you take the organ out of the case so that you can see the bottom of the keyboard, you'll see that there are 2 black conductive contact bars, broken into several sections. I believe one bar is ground and the other is the audio output bus. Each key connects to a spring contact. If one of the gold contact wires is bent, (or the black conductive contact bars is bent), a contact can touch both buses, disabling that section. In my case, when the offending key was played, the short circuit to ground was broken. So when that key was pressed, it would sound. The other keys in that section would sound when the bad key was depressed, but the whole section was silenced if that key was not pressed. When I fixed the contact so that it didn't touch both conductive buses, if fixed the problem.
