A sad day for me. I probably never would have picked up my piano and organ playing without the inspiration from Rick. My Farfisa has been played a lot today RIP Rick.

What I loved about Mr. Wright, was his ability to create texture and mood; also, he could lay down THE most tasteful Moog solo during the hey day of Rick-Wakeman-finger-olympic-types. Think of the solo at the start of "shine on you crazy diamond"... what incredible restraint and style.
Additionally, I respect the fact that while all Mr. Wright's peers were using Voxes, he chose to lug around a back breaking Compact Duo. And he sure could make it sing.
