Hi there I've been trying, and TRYING to get my tone generators working properly on my Vox Baroque, but no can do. After replacing the bias pots AND the bias capacitors, I still can't get a decent result, it's all warbly and undisciplined burping from these turkeys. My guess is that the SFT363E's have had it. Now I'm looking for replacement SILICON transistors to make it reliable. As these tone generators are used for square wave generation, it doesn't make any difference soundwise if they're germanium or silicon. Does anybody know of a silicon transistor that has similar characteristics as a SFT363E (beta for example) so that I can quit the pickering and start playing music already? MUCH help needed Thanks!

you should try these: SFT363e = AC127/176/187

Hi mtwallet
Sure I know these germanium equivalents but I'm willing to switch to silicon devices because not only are they more reliable but they're also a LOT cheaper (and they can be bought new). Any hints? Thanks for the reply BTW
