I use a Vox Valvetronix on my continental and Gibson G101. I'm thinking about getting aGibson duo medalist for my G101. I think it should sound pretty nice. Anyone else use this amp for an organ?

Valvetronix, huh? Does that have 2 x 12" speakers? What about tube simulation? How does it handle the bass octaves?

See the review of the Traynor K4 here... www.traynoramps.com/default.asp?p1=3&p2=0&p_id=14&id=20I will be getting one of these in a few short days. BTW... Forget tube simulation. The K4 has a an actual tube drive channel. Plus it is made in North America according to their website. Does that mean Canada?

Yes the Valvetronix sound great with my Continental. It does have tube simulation and has the 2X12 selection as well as many others. It handles the bass very nice, but never really liked the sound on the Gibson G101. I just got this today for my G101 and it sounds superb!I just got a beatiful clean tube amp. A gibson medalist. Has a Jensen speaker, foot switch for tremolo and reverb. It's clean even at full volume! Sounds great on the G101 and even has the same gibson logo with the little sunburst thingy that the G101 has. Has a date of 1968. It alot taller than it looks in the pic. It stands about 2 ft tall..comes just underneath the bottom of the Gibson...pretty nice size amp. It's not so loud that the walls shake, but lound enough and I suspect it can me miked fairly well too.

I play my Vox Continental through a Motion Sound Pro-145. I like it. Full-on Leslie, 200 Watts, and a tube preamp section.

Didn't want to start a new thread with this... but... I just joined a band w/ my Farfisa Fast 3 and am thinking I'm gonna need an amp if I want to start playing out. Any recommendations to a total amp newbie?? (I've only been plugging into the PA when I'm at the practice space, and I got a teeny weeny amp for home use).

Fender Twin with a Danelectro Rocky Road between. I'm interested in your opinion on the rocky road; seems to be a fairly good leslie simulator...?

I have a 43 year old Haynes Organ King II Amp I play my Panther through, I also have a Peavey KB 100 but it doesn't come close to the sound I get through the Haynes. My parents bought the Panther and the Haynes together for my graduation in 1969 and I still have them.

If anyone else has a Haynes Organ King amp I'd like to hear from you, mine might be the last one on the planet, I can't find anything on this amp on the internet, this amp is a fantastic sounding combo organ amp.

I thought caused damages to plug a keyboard into a guitar amp... a question of frequencies... i don't know. are you sure i won't distroy my fender blues junior or vox valvetronix?? (it's not really mine) thanks a lot!!!

Subma your a smart man, always best to blow up someone else's amp. Unless you have gremlins in your Antonelli you should be safe plugging her into almost anything.
I'll add my limited wisdom to this thread. Usually i prescribe to the theory that if it's solid state its crap but there aren't any tubes in my Yamaha RA 100 and it f**king rocks usually though I was saddened when I plugged my CX3 into her. I have a Philicorda and a Gem Challenger and both are monsters through the yammy. For the non rotary minded and in the Korg's case I've been running it into a late 70's MusicMan 210 HD130 it has fender style reverb and vibrato. I love 10 inch speakers for organs. Here the Korg really sings as does my Top 5. I also have had good luck with 60's Traynor and Garnet PA heads through various cabs. Ideally when I'm searching out a amp pairing for an organ I'm looking for something with reverb and the ability to run atleast two channels with independant volume control and eq options.

thank you orchidderek! there are both gremlins and trolls in my organ and it sounds like they love crying through the fender with a very light touch of crunch and reverb... it's a new world. the problem is that there's only one channel so when i want to play 2 organs at a time it becomes quite messy and noisy... and my neigbours complain about little wild creatures crossing the thin walls of my tiny room... my balls on their forehead!!!

Hey all, I'm fairly new to this and I just picked up a Roland VK-1 combo organ. I was just wondering what manner of amp I should run it through. I was hoping for something that could add a bit of grit. Ive already got a Peavey Delta Blues guitar amp with 1x15, and a '65 SIlvertone 1484 guitar amp with 2x12 that could probably get the right sound. I'm just terrified of damaging one of my amps. Thanks for any help.
