My thought is that, if it comes in at the same pricepoint as the Electro 2, there will be one of these in my future.

Being able to load the Mellotron collection and other samples, would make one of these things cover an awful lot of bases. Initially I expect it make be priced higher than the Mark 2. Look at what they want for the Wave!

I'm hoping that Clavia operates according to the pricepoint principle and that the Electro 3 is a replacement for the Electro 2 at that pricepoint. The Wave is all new technology, and I think the price reflects development costs. The Electro 3 is a refinement pf existing technology; the costs are paid.
At least that's what I hope.

I hope that you are correct. However it seems that just going by the feature set the E3 has more going on. The organ section is now emulation, like the C1, and I think the E2 was basically a ROMpler. Plus the ability to add samples seems to be brought over from the Wave. I'm guessing it's gonna be more, at least on first release.
I just hope they make a rack version.

Hi All, The Nord E2 has a modeled B3 in it, that is just killer, Although the Percussion is not quit there. I understand the C1, and hopefully the E3 has improved this.
The remaining sounds in the E2 are ROMed up, and the only samples you can change are the Piano Sounds. I wish they would make the Combo sounds available, as it would be great if I could trade out one of the pianos for a VOX or Farfisa.

This is a crappy demo video. In fact, they don't play a single note. They also don't mention the Vox/Farfisa sounds (though we know they'll be there). However, the dude from Nord USA says the Electro 3 ships April 1st 2009. I guess that means here in the USA we can't get `em till May or June. The 73 key will be $2199, the 61 key will be $1899 street. emusician.com/ms/namm/video/nord_electro_3/
