Hey everyone.
One issue with my farfisa deluxe is that the reverb switch doesnt do anything. I looked under the organ and the reverb tank is there.
If you tap it with your hand while the organ is on, the spring makes a big clang ! Anyone have any idea why the switch doesn't trigger any reverb? What would it take to repair it? I've looked at the switches and have no idea how to get them off...

Hello Mammalface
The good news is if you get a reverb clang when you hit the unit then your problem is at the front end. Look carefully at the switch and the wires leading to the reverb tank for any broken wires. If you can get to the bottom of the switch spray it with contact cleaner, and push the switch repetedly. If thats not the problem it is probobly the amplifier which drives the reverb tank. Look for an electrolytic capacitor" looks like little cans on the circuit board" These fail due to age and a lot of times they are in series with the audio signal. When they fail no audio can get through. Sometimes due to vibration these guys work themselves loose from the circuit board. Check carefully for solder joints that are broken.
Can you get hold of an oscilloscope? It can make your job much easier. Let me Know What you find. I can help or walk you through some other trouble shooting steps.
