I have found that my Compact Deluxe sounds the best to me (probably closest to a Continental) on the following settings: - All Tone Booster on; - 16', 4' and 2 2/3' on; - knee lever slightly pressed (around 30 degrees from the original position, but that amount probably varies on each lever). To be able to keep that sound for a bit longer than 3 seconds ( ), I would like to install a potentiometer next to the lever. Does anyone know how the lever works--should the pot be in series or parallel, what should be the value of the pot etc. This would be a good moment to make the knee lever totally detachable; I would simply add a jack between the lever and the pot (if it's in series), then a jack between the pot and the organ. This way I could also bypass the pot if I do something wrong... Any ideas?

OK, this is me. Perhaps the topic should be moved to the technical discussions subforum. If that's possible in a free ProBoards account.

Thanks Rod. It seems the knee lever is not so simple as I thought -- it encapsulates two RC filters, controlled by two LDR's (probably those two are in reverse proportion). I'll probably need to talk to someone who managed to do this.

Anytime Nick, You know there is an argument to made for leaving vintage gear in original condition and working within the limitations of it's designed ability. Some would make the point that you lower the potential resale value of an item when you modify or alter it.
Only you can decide that. Glad to help and be sure to keep us posted.
