Hello!
Anna here, and I'm also a new Farfisa owner. I just recently bought a Farfisa Fast 3 from Craigslist ($300 and in pretty good condition - just had some minor tuning) - I've been wanting one for ages because I'm really into garage & sixties rock. It's my first time owning a combo organ though, so I still have a lot of things to learn!
Also, a question - I realized I'm going to have to lug this thing around quite a lot. Does anybody have any experience with traveling with a Farfisa and/or with cases? Will it fit in a keyboard case? I wish I could just put it in the back of a car, but unfortunately I don't have a car!

Anna, Congrats!! Oh yeah, they ARE bloody heavy! I use a trolley to roll my continental around from rehearsal space to car to venue and back!... somethng kinda like this: Makes things really easy and my guitarist happy because when I'm done, he makes sure to get the trolley for his amp... ;o) are you in a band? any chance to see pix of your organ (no offence!) oh and it's good to see that a girl whos into 60s garage is also on this kind of forum! Welcome!

Brad, I find it too much hassle to carry the d**n thing around by its handle. Too d**n heavy; I keep my strength for the gig itself...

Hey, a fellow girl on the forum! Congrats on your purchase, but watch out, the vintage keys are addicting.
My keyboards have a permanent home indoors, but if I ever had to bring one somewhere I would use a trolly thing like mentioned before. I think it would be the safest way, the less banging around the better. It should be just fine though... Farfisas are like tanks - if mine went halfway across Canada with nothing wrong yours will be safe!

One thing I've been considering is having a custom gig bag made for my Jaguar that would cover the organ WITH the top on. I played a couple of gigs this summer and I didn't take the Jag to the second one because it was such a pain -- the clasps don't work and the top is a bit wonky... -- and that was a shame. (I used my Fantom.) There are a number of companies that will make custom gig bags that will fit an organ for @ $150.

Hello everybody! Thanks for the warm welcomes! fleshtonejm - I actually just joined a band! I've been lugging around my keys in a granny cart, but I will probably be taking the bus/subway a lot with it, and it's super heavy to lug up and down stairs! The handle & cover are really useful, but sometimes I wish this thing had wheels too haha. plateauphase - Could you refer me to one of those companies? I've tried googling it but I can't seem to come up with many. bradx - BRILLIANT photo!!! Here's a very bad photo of my Farfisa, sorry... I only have a camera phone!
